Hilary Clinton didn’t present a concession speech on the night that Trump was elected, which is quite untraditional in american politics. She waited until the next day, after the dust had settled, and not many people heard the important things that she really had to say.

“To all the little girls who are watching this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams.”

Clinton talks about the coverage she received on the idea of becoming the first female president. She championed it, and that’s one thing as women that we often take for granted; strong, opinionated women that stand up to difficult situations and represent us all. You can hear in her voice that she not only found it tough, but a huge honour.

“To all the women, and especially the young women who put their faith in this campaign and in me, I want you to know that nothing has made me prouder than to be your champion.”

If we take anything from the position we find ourselves in after the results of the election, it’s to stop waiting for women like Hilary – The loudest women in the room shouldn’t be the only ones to champion equality and feminism, it’s a topic for everyone to speak up on.
